Climate
Mitoyo is generally warm with a year-round average temperature of 16℃ (61℉)
and infrequent rain. The lowest temperatures occur in Feburary and reach about
4℃ (40℉), while the warmest temperatures in July and August reach 38℃ (100℉).
Snow is rare, falling only once or twice a year in very small quanities.

Takase here in Mitoyo produces 90% of the tea grown in Kagawa Prefecture.
Sweet with just the right amount of bitterness, it's known for its aroma above all. -

These meaty eggplants are 3 times the size of other varieties. Their mild flavor is gaining popularity thoughout Japan.

Celebrate the harvest with the Fall festival season.
Lion dances unique to each region permeate the Autumn months.
At Yoshizu Yahashirajinja Shrine, a yearly "Married Couple's Lion Dance" has been held since the early 17th century. The dance shows the lifetime of a lion through the flirtations of a male and female. -
Tsushimajinja Shrine Summer Festival
A once-a-year chance to visit this shrine dedicated to the health and wellbeing of children.
Visit on August 4th or 5th to cross the bridge to this lonely island. -
Nio Dragon Festival
The main event of the Nio Dragon Festival sees a 35m (115ft), 3 tonne dragon made of straw and green bamboo carried through the streets of the town.
Participants and visitors alike get soaked as onlookers throw water onto the dragon while it parades past to pray for rain in the coming year.
