Daikoji Temple

Temple #67 on the Shikoku 88-Temple Pilgramage

Also called Komatsuoji, this temple is well-loved by the community. The impressive Niomon Gate houses two 3.14m (10.3ft) tall wooden statues of the Deva Kings- the largest on the Shikoku Pilgrimage. Pass through the same gate to see massive camphor and nutmeg tree, said to have been planted side-by-side by Kobo Daishi himself. Stand beneath them to feel the depths of the site's history.
