Peaceful Temple Grounds Enfolded into the Aroma of Flowers

Situated on top of a small knoll, Enmei-in Temple is said to have had its foundations originally laid by Kobo Daishi himself. Dedicated to Vaisravana, visitors pray for protection from disaster in this life.
More than 100 wintersweet trees are maintained on the grounds and put out delicate, fragrant flowers each year around late January.
