Tsushimajinja Shrine

Accessible just 2 days each year

Just offshore from Mino, Mitoyo is a small island home to Tsushimajinja Shrine. The main purpose of the shrine is to pray for the health and longevity of children.
While the bridge connecting the small shrine to the mainland is there all year, the boards forming the bridge are not, making the island inaccessible. The bridge is only traversable on the 4th and 5th of August each year, when the shrine holds its Summer Festival. The large influx of visitors is accommodated by the seasonal opening of the JR Tsushimanomiya train station a short walk from the bridge.
